CHICKAMAUGA, GEORGIA — Jenna Turnipseed, a 22-year U.S. Army veteran and mother of four, small farm owner, and high school JROTC instructor, today announced her candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.
Turnipseed launched her campaign with a focus on fighting inflation and bringing down everyday costs for Northwest Georgia families. She says outdated government rules and tangled layers of bureaucracy are driving up prices on groceries, housing, and transportation—while wasting billions that should be put to better use. Her mission: modernize the system, cut waste, and make life more affordable for families again.
“Families are being squeezed and seniors are struggling because the cost of living has exploded. These problems come from systems that haven’t been updated in decades — inflation isn’t just interest rates.” said Turnipseed. “Fixing our future isn’t about simply cutting taxes or cutting programs—it’s about changing how we do things.”
Turnipseed began her military career as a wheel vehicle mechanic and rose through the ranks to become Executive Officer of the 52nd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group. She deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and two Master’s degrees, and graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.
After retiring from the Army, Turnipseed returned to Northwest Georgia to build her family’s future. She and her husband operate Chickamauga Creek Farms, which uses sustainable practices to grow produce year-round. She also serves as a high school JROTC instructor, mentoring young people in leadership, character, and service. A wife, mother of four, and grandmother, Turnipseed is running on a platform centered on relief for working families:
